Monsoon Water Entered Your El Mirage Home: What Next?
During an active storm, safety comes first. Once access is safe, document where water entered and arrange cleanup that addresses both wet materials and the opening that let water in.
Do not cross floodwater
The National Weather Service warns that flash floods can develop quickly and advises never driving through a flooded roadway.
Find the route in
Make a note of water at doors, windows, ceilings and wall edges. A wet floor alone may not identify the opening.
Treat outside water cautiously
Runoff may carry debris and contaminants. Describe the source accurately so the responding provider plans appropriately.
Drying and repair are linked
Extraction and drying handle water already inside. Roofing, drainage or envelope repairs address the opening and may be separate work.
